The BSc Business Administration is an undergraduate degree from the University of London, with the curriculum developed and academically directed by Royal Holloway's School of Business and Management. Rather than requiring students to relocate to the UK, the degree is delivered through distance learning, supported by International College for Legal Studies a Recognised Teaching Centre.
Program Overview
The degree is designed to build a systematic understanding of how organisations function, blending core management theory with the practical tools needed to analyse and solve real business problems. A defining feature of the programme is its comparative, historically-grounded approach — students are encouraged to understand not just how modern businesses operate, but why, by examining the political, cultural, and institutional forces that have shaped them over time. Students can pursue a general pathway or specialise early into a track aligned with their career interests.
Eligibility may vary depending on your program and scholarship type.
Program Highlights
Core Learning Areas
All students build a shared foundation in core business disciplines before branching into one of four specialisations:
General Business Administration
a broad-based track spanning marketing, HR, and international business without narrowing into one discipline
Human Resource Management
organisational change, international HR practice, and the individual at work
International Business
the global economy, multinational enterprise, and cross-border business practice (e.g., European and Asia Pacific business)
Marketing
Consumer behaviour, marketing research, and branding/advertising
Program Structures
1
Stage 1
Establishes a common foundation for every student, regardless of pathway — covering quantitative methods, management theory, information systems, and international business and accounting.
2
Stage 2
Shifts toward applied management practice: employability and HR, strategic management and accounting, and operations/marketing strategy are compulsory across all pathways, with one additional module (compulsory or elective, depending on pathway) drawing the student toward their specialisation.
3
Stage 3
is where the degree becomes most specialised. Every student completes "Integrating Management: Business, Leadership and Innovation" as a shared core module, with the remaining modules dictated largely by the chosen pathway — for instance, Marketing students take Consumer Behaviour and Global Marketing plus Brands, Branding and Advertising, while International Business students focus on Emerging Markets and European Business.
